August 15, 2018. Orange, Calif. —The Democratic Party of Orange County’s (DPOC) largest fundraiser of the year, the Annual Harry S. Truman Awards Dinner, hit a milestone in 2017 with a turnout hundreds larger than in recent years. In 2018 it’s so big, today organizers announce the event sales are maxed — two weeks early.
“This is unprecedented for us,” said Fran Sdao, Chair of the Democratic Party of Orange County. “Orange County is truly fired up. We expected to sell 600 seats and we sold 900. There just isn’t any more room. We’re still getting calls from folks trying to get in.”
On the same day that DPOC created a Waitlist for tickets, organizers also suspended requests for volunteers because the volunteer pool reached capacity.

About the Democratic Party of Orange County
The Democratic Party of Orange County (DPOC) is the official organization for Democrats in the nation’s sixth-largest county, and is ground zero in nationally-watched races to retake the US House in 2018. DPOC narrowed the Democratic to Republican voter margin gap from 20% in the mid-1990s to just 2.6% in 2018, and has grown its grassroots clubs by a third in less than two years. To volunteer or donate to elect strong Democrats, visit DPOC at www.ocdemocrats.org or call (714) 634-DEMS.
