April 22, 2018 – Orange County Democrats today announce a new “blue bench” campaign workshop for Democrats running for City Council, School Board and Water District.

The “Blue Bench” workshop is on Saturday, June 16 at Cal State Fullerton and covers campaign essentials of fundraising, press, digital media, and field operations. Training is open to Democrats and is free of charge.

“The ‘blue wave’ is wider and deeper than most people realize,” said Fran Sdao, Chair of DPOC. “This is the year to run for local office. We’re here to help Democrats connect with voters and run great campaigns.”

“Young people are taking politics seriously,” said Andrea Guzman, Chair of the CSUF College Democrats. “At CSUF, we’re recruiting candidates, organizing forums, and mobilizing for campaigns. Today’s oldest millennials are in their mid-30s. Our generation is ready to run.”

Training is produced in partnership with the National Democratic Training Committee, a training program for local Democrats in affiliation with Run For Something, Emerge America, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, AFCSME, CWA, and the California Democratic Party.

Seating is limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. RSVP Here: https://www.traindemocrats.org/training/ndtc-fullerton
