The Democratic Party of Orange County expresses gratitude and appreciation for our retiring Administrative Assistant, Caryn Puma.
Caryn oversaw the Democratic Party office’s rapid growth under Chairs Fran Sdao and Ada Briceño during the 2018 Midterm elections and transition to 2020.
As a staff member in the Democratic Party, Caryn strengthened office management, coordinated Central Committee meetings and events, and helped produce the annual Truman Awards Dinner.
“I am incredibly grateful to Caryn, and simply can’t put into words the instrumental, indispensable service she provided,” said Chair Briceño.
“Every Democrat in Orange County benefited from Caryn’s work,” continued Briceño. “She kept our office running seamlessly, all with genuine kindness. I wish her a wonderful and relaxing retirement.”
“Caryn Puma brought a high level of professionalism and outstanding administrative talent to DPOC as the ‘blue wave’ was rolling through Orange County,” said former Chair Sdao. “Caryn’s depth of experience and her incredible commitment and dedication helped create a new level of order as we wound our way through the challenges that came up almost every day. And best of all, Caryn has a great sense of humor and she always laughed at my jokes.”
In addition to office management, Caryn oversaw one of the largest expansions in internship opportunities in recent years for more young Democrats. “I am so grateful to her for the work she did with all of our interns, many of whom have gone on to bigger roles in campaigns,” said former Chair Sdao. Caryn is pictured above with two interns she directed in 2018. “I wish her much happiness and lots of relaxation in her next phase,” said Sdao.
Caryn retired from the Democratic Party of Orange County at the end of November. She resides in Laguna Woods and remains an active member of the Democratic Party and local Democratic Clubs. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
