Orange, Calif. — The Democratic Party of Orange County (DPOC) announced today that its Communications Director, Rachel Potucek, is stepping down from day to day duties at DPOC to join in the 2020 Presidential campaign cycle. Potucek is transitioning to Deputy Director of Communications for Iowa for John Delaney for President 2020, and is relocating to the campaign’s Iowa headquarters in Des Moines as part of an early leading statewide organization of 24 new hires and six new campaign offices, the campaign announced today.

“Rachel played a big part of our success in turning Orange County blue in 2018,” said DPOC Chair Fran Sdao. “The past two years were instrumental for the Democratic Party’s renewed strength in Orange County. Looking ahead, we are prepared to ensure our robust communications will continue to grow.”

Potucek worked with DPOC through the historic 2018 Midterm cycle to expand communications and training initiatives under the leadership of Chair Fran Sdao. She joins the ranks of fellow former DPOC staffers who have advanced in political endeavors and public service, including former Executive Directors Mike Levin, Melahat Rafiei, and Nick Anas.
