A victory against COVID-19

My friend,

I have big news!

After strong pressure from Democrats, today the OC Board of Supervisors finally took action to require face masks for workers in essential businesses open to the public. San Diego County, Los Angeles County, and Riverside County already required masks, but we refused to let OC fall behind.

This is a big step forward for public health in Orange County.

Thank you to everyone who signed petitions, sent comments, and shared the news. We won because we pushed for change and a bipartisan petition and public pressure campaign led by Ocean View School District President Gina Clayton-Tarvin.

We made progress, but it’s not enough.

We must fight for Democrats who support public health. It’s up to us to make sure Donald Trump and his friends — like OC Board of Supervisors Republicans Michelle Steel and Donald Wager — can’t push our health
aside.

We have an endorsed Democrat with ballots out now  — help Thai Viet Phan in Santa Ana, and help make change!

Keep reading for more actions around OC.

In unity,

Ada Briceño

Chair, Democratic Party of Orange County
